Computers and the Internet have become a big part of our daily lives but there are many people that are still weary about using the Internet. Contrary to popular belief, they are NOT old people who don’t even know how to use a cellphone. In fact, some of them are experienced internet users. So, the question is: Why are there are experienced people who try not to use the Internet in their work or daily tasks, such as homebanking?

The answer is rather simple: it is because they know how to use it and the potential dangers of the Internet that they don’t trust it and drive away from it. Trust has become an important issue in the Internet, especially since a lot of commercial transactions occur over the Internet and people need to be assured that their identity and money are safe while buying stuff over the internet or checking their email accounts. And that’s why most e-bussinesses try to make their sites hacker-safe through airtight security.

Nevertheless, there are still many security hazards on the Internet, such as phishing, CSRF, XSS, even forged security applications (such as fake anti spyware/malware application), and many other techniques aimed at breaking security on the Internet.

Because of that, people nowadays not easily trust something online (especially when it comes to online business or online transaction). With that in mind, Comodo has put forward their great vision towards trusted Internet and rhey are offering  many great tools that were developed to re-build trust. People don’t need to buy expensive security applications to be installed on their computer only to surf the Internet. I guess this idea of trusted Internet is possible to achieve, and I also glad if someday I don’t have to be worried when using Internet.

To prove their point and help build trust among internet users, Comodo has released several pieces of security-related software, just look into their website and you can download and use their free software on your computer and build security from the ground up. I’ve downloaded the Comodo BoClean and Comodo Firewall Pro, and so far, they’ve helped to get rid of some nasty spyware and shielded my notebook against several attacks coming from the Internet.

I was having trouble with my computer. So I called Richard, the 11 year old
next door whose bedroom looks like Mission Control, and asked him to come
over.

Richard clicked a couple of buttons and solved the problem.

As he was walking away, I called after him, “So, what was wrong?” He
Replied, “It was an ‘ID ten T’ error.”

I didn’t want to appear stupid, but nonetheless inquired, “An, ‘ID ten T’
Error? What’s that? In case I need to fix it again.”

Richard grinned … “Haven’t you ever heard of an ‘ID ten T’ error before?”

“No,” I replied. “Write it down,” he said, “and I think you’ll figure it
out.”

So I wrote down: I D 1 0 T … I used to like the kid …
