In 1992 multimedia was all the rage. The year before Microsoft met with hardware manufacturers to establish the MPC (Multimedia PC) specification. Since then people were desperate to make their PCs multimedia compatible, shelling out for products such as the Creative Multimedia Upgrade Kit which retailed for around £550.
