Windows 95 had proved to be a huge success for Microsoft, whose user interface and 32-bit application support made it a giant upgrade from Windows 3.1. This didn’t mean that the success of Windows 98 was assured, however. Anticipation for a brand new operating system was at an all-time high, and Microsoft’s legal woes in the US threatened to derail Windows 98′s launch. In the end, Windows 98 met with lukewarm reviews, though it went on to be incredibly successful in its own right. Click the image below to read our review from 1998.
